How does Olyset Net work?

Olyset Net adopts a four-fold insecticidal approach to combat mosquitoes: bite inhibition, repellency, knockdown and mortality.

Working to protect people sleeping under the Olyset Nets from biting mosquitoes, liquid permethrin is slowly released into polyethylene fibres, a tough material and substantial physical barrier:

Repellency/Expellency

Contact with the insecticide causes mosquitoes to leave without taking a blood meal.

Physical Barrier

Insecticide causes the mosquitoes not to bite.

Knockdown & Mortality

Insecticide causes knockdown or death of mosquitoes.

Product Life

For Olyset Net, liquid permethrin – chosen for its high mammalian safety – slowly migrates to the surface of the net over a three-year period, maintaining an effective surface concentration.
